When Donna first met Sofia, it was love a first sight for her even though she knew Sofia had issues.

After riding her, and talking to her husband, he offered to get Sofia as a birthday present. It took months of seeing her every day, twice a day, spending time with her, to gain her trust.

A vet had confirmed that at some time in her life, Sofia had been abused. She would not let anyone touch her head or ears.

With time, love, patience, and a lot of peppermints, Sofia finally dropped her guard and gave Donna her love and trust.

Today, when Donna asks Sofia for hugs, she gives hugs willingly.

When asked for kisses, Sofia gives them gratefully.

Sofia has found her forever home, and Donna has found her heart horse.
